When do you join ResourceBank?
I joined ResourceBank in February 2016, I found out about the job online and was contacted by the HR Team. I wanted to work for ResourceBank because I was looking for a new career and something that was relative to my degree. I started off as a Talent Screener and after 6 months progressed to a Recruiter Advisor and then this year progressed to Recruitment Business Partner.
Describe your typical day at ResourceBank
I am currently Recruitment Business Partner for World Duty Free, my key role is being first point of contact for the client and developing client relationships as well as managing the North recruitment. I currently recruit for roles along the shop floor – that’s from Customer Service Assistant and Replenishment Assistants all the way up to Retail Managers, I will review and select applications, contact applicants for initial conversations and conduct telephone interviews, and then put forward the most suitable candidates to the clients. I will also set up client interviews and process feedback as well.
What is your main motivator?

What is the best part of working for ResourceBank?
Our main success with World Duty Free is how immersed we are with the company’s culture and how we work collaboratively with the WDF team. What makes the team that I work with so special is that everyone is like a family in the Henley Office, everyone is really passionate to deliver and really motivated, we also celebrate success of all the individuals. To celebrate 10 years of ResourceBank working with World Duty Free we went on a trip to Dublin. We often have team meetings evenings out to socialise and celebrate team achievements and we also have star awards to recognise individual’s success.

When did you join ResourceBank and how has your role progressed since?
I joined ResourceBank in 1998 as Administration Assistant and in the past nineteen years I have had six different roles. I am currently working as Recruitment Business Partner for Aliaxis. Along the way I have been mentored by numerous Consultants and Account Managers taking me from an Administration role to a Recruiting role.
How has ResourceBank evolved throughout the years?
The way we conduct recruitment has changed a great deal since joining ResourceBank. So many changes have occurred over the last 19 years however one thing that has remained constant throughout is the work ethics of the people within the business!
What is the best part about your role?
I have enjoyed plenty of variety in terms of role, clients and industry sectors each one bringing different challenges. I enjoy applying the skills I have gained in these areas to projects within RB but also having an account base where I have got to know my hiring community.
What do you enjoy most about working for ResourceBank?
I enjoy the role itself, the people and the working environment!

When did you join ResourceBank?
I joined ResourceBank as a Talent Screener for the Wolseley team at the beginning at 2016 having been made aware of the role by a current ResourceBank employee. At the time I was looking for a new career path and joining ResourceBank allowed me the opportunity to get into recruitment and try something completely new having previously worked in hospitality. After a few months I was promoted to Talent Co-ordinator working within the Talent Team before being appointed as Recruitment Co-ordinator for the DFS team.
What learning and support have you received throughout your career?
Joining ResourceBank without prior experience in recruitment meant I was provided with full training to ensure I was up-to-speed with how the business worked. During my time with the Talent Team I was also given the opportunity to complete a Business Administration apprenticeship, working alongside other team members who were there to provide support and answer all my questions along the way.
What’s the working environment like?
The working environment is my favourite part of working for ResourceBank. Everyone is great and we all get along well, but we also work hard to exceed the expectations of the clients we work with. Everyone is very friendly and willing to help at all times.
What’s next for you at ResourceBank?
I’m excited to see what my future with ResourceBank holds, I feel like I’ve progressed a great amount in the short time I’ve been with the company and I’m always learning new things. The opportunities to learn and progress here are endless and there’s always support and training on offer, whether that’s taking part in the Sourcing Ninja course or attending lunch and learn sessions.
Your advice to someone considering joining ResourceBank?
Just do it! I’m so glad I applied to join the company when I did and haven’t looked back since.
